Grants of up to $1,500 to Kansas nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, local governments, and churches in eligible regions for programs that benefit local residents. Funding is intended for projects that enhance the community's well-being by promoting educational opportunities, cultural enrichment, and improvement of human health and the physical environment. Eligible projects should primarily benefit North Newton residents.

Funding requests should embody the following criteria:

  • Be consistent with and supportive of the NNCF Mission Statement
  • Be deemed effective at addressing perceived social or economic issues directly related to community well-being
  • Contain innovative features with potential to attract local interest
  • Demonstrate that benefits are expected to accrue largely to North Newton residents

The 2021 North Newton Community Foundation Grant cycle is funded with proceeds from the following funds:

  • North Newton Community Impact Fund
  • Jacob D. and Beth E. Goering Charitable Fund, the John G. and Diana C. Torline Endowment, the Jim and Shirley Goering Community Development Fund, and the Sher Klassen Neufeld Endowment Fund
  • North Newton Kids Endowment Fund
  • North Newton Cultural Enhancement Fund

Estimated Size of Grant:

Funding requests should not exceed $1,500.

Term of Contract:

The project/program cannot occur until after grants are estimated to be made (June/July 2021). The project/program must be completed by February 4, 2022, unless additional considerations are shared prior to the completion of the project/program.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

To apply for this opportunity, your organization must meet the following requirements:
- Possess a 501(c)(3) status under the Internal Revenue Service code, be exempt under statute (i.e. educational institution, church, city, or county), or be formally linked to an organization with such distinction
- Management should be in the hands of reliable, ethical, and experienced personnel
